These Confined Space and Asphyxiant resources are the result of a creative sentencing project in partnership with the Government of Alberta and an energy servicing company, that includes three modules spanning 2023-2026.
Module 1 – Incident Re-creation video
A re-creation of the events that led to the deaths of 3 workers by asphyxiation in a confined space. A Facilitation Guide is available to lead video discussions as well as a bowtie visual identifying incident-related threats and consequences.

Four 5-minute videos outline the different types of asphyxiants, where they can be found in the energy industry, the hazards they present and the controls required to protect workers.

Module 3 – Confined Spaces – Guidance to Build Capacity
Self-paced learning segments covering all aspects of confined space work that will take learners 1.5 to 3 hours to complete and address the safe planning and execution of this type of work.
