Causal Reasoning Workshop
This two-day workshop equips participants with the tools and insights needed to apply causal reasoning to real-world incidents. With a focus on an investigative mindset, the session reveals the underlying causes of performance outcomes.
Through guided exploration, engaging discussions, practical examples, and a detailed case study, participants will learn how causal thinking improves both how work is done and why outcomes—good or bad—occur.

About the Presenter:
Zoë Gulley is a seasoned professional with nearly two decades of experience in workplace investigations and performance improvement. She has worked with industry leading companies such as Shell and NOVA Chemicals, gaining extensive expertise in learning from failure and organizational development. Throughout Zoë’s career, she has explored in depth the three pillars of performance improvement including analysis, learning and sustainable solutions and, working with leadership teams, created sustained improved performance.

Speaker Bio: Trenton Grover – Field Occupational Health and Safety Advisor, BC Crane Safety
Trenton Grover brings more than 26 years of crane and rigging experience to his role at BC Crane Safety. He spent 17 years in the offshore oil and gas industry as a commercial diver, rigger, crane operator and deck foreman. After returning to Canada, he continued operating cranes and rigging for 3.5 years before moving into instruction, where he taught cranes and rigging for another 5.5 years. Today, Trenton applies his extensive field knowledge to support and promote safe practices across British Columbia’s crane industry.
