This course is designed for ESC instructor candidates learning how to teach adult learners in a modern classroom, ethically and competently.

This train the trainer course is required for all new Energy Safety Canada (ESC) instructors. Once completed, it ensures that the trainer is well-equipped to deliver a diverse number of courses to others.

Prerequisites

To get started, please reach out to the Evaluations team at 1-403-516-8033. They can guide you through the items listed below and ensure that you have an experienced and knowledgeable instructor leading the way.

  • Sponsorship/Referral – a sponsorship or referral must be obtained from an ATP (Authorized Training Provider) for approval by ESC.
  • Application Submission -Submit your course specific application to ESC evaluations for review and approval. This includes a certification in the relevant course, and two professional references.
  • Instructor Competency Exam -Successfully complete course specific exam (and Skill assessment for H2S Alive).

For the Virtual Classroom you will need:

  • A currently supported version of your operating System Windows or Apple
  • Stable internet connection with supported web browser
  • Web Camera
  • Speakers / Microphone (headset recommended)
  • Latest version of Zoom

Notes

  • Student must be on time and present for all virtual classroom course content instruction.
  • Student who miss any course content cannot be certified and registration fees will not be reimbursed, as per the Cancelation Policy.
  • Virtual classroom course duration may continue beyond 4:30 PM.
