Incident and Accident Investigation


Personnel who are required to carry out or assist in incident investigations will be given the tools to identify the contributing and causal factors of accidents to learn from what went wrong in order to make meaningful corrective actions.

Designed For

Anyone who will be developing or revising a company’s safety program. The owner or senior manager of a company holding a Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR) who needs to maintain their SECOR status by completing a qualifying course related to health and safety every three years. 
 

Upon Completion

Upon successful completion of this course a Certificate of Completion will be awarded that does not expire.

  • Conducting investigations into incidents of mild to medium severity
  • Gathering evidence and information
  • Analyzing the information

Notes

  • All registrations, at all locations, are booked through Energy Safety Canada.
  • Students must be on time and present for all course content instruction. Students who miss any course content cannot be certified and registration fees will not be reimbursed, as per the Cancellation Policy.
  • Course duration may continue beyond 4:30 pm

Virtual Classrooms

  • Virtual classrooms have a class schedule and students tune into instructor-led lectures at the same time.
  • Students must be on time and present for all virtual classroom course content instruction.
  • Students who miss any virtual classroom course content cannot be certified and registration fees will not be reimbursed, as per the Cancellation Policy.
  • Virtual classroom course duration may continue beyond 4:30 pm.

Equipment Requirements for Virtual Class

  • A currently supported version of your operating System for Windows or Apple
  • Stable internet connection with a supported web browser
  • Web Camera
  • Speakers / Microphone (headset recommended)
  • A government-issued, picture ID
  • Printer to print the certificate after successfully completing the course
  • Latest version of Zoom - as well as an account with Zoom
