Energy Safety Canada Announces Appointment of Mr. Peter Zebedee as New Board Chair

Mr. Reynish has been a valued member of the Board since 2019 and has served as Chair since 2022. With his extensive leadership experience in the energy sector, Mr. Reynish has provided thoughtful guidance and insights that have significantly contributed to ESC’s work. ESC is grateful for his dedication and wishes him well in his retirement.
Mr. Zebedee has over 25 years of multi-disciplinary industry and executive leadership experience. He currently serves as the Executive Vice President, Oil Sands at Suncor Energy Inc., where he is responsible for all oil sands operations including mining, in situ, drilling and upgrading.
“Mr. Zebedee’s leadership and deep industry knowledge make him exceptionally well-suited to guide the Board in its next phase,” said Ms. Vineeta Maguire, President and CEO of Energy Safety Canada. “I am confident he will continue strengthening ESC’s role in advancing safety in the energy industry.”
