Improving Safety


In this webinar Dr. Mark Fleming questions the utility of widely accepted safety concepts (e.g. accident triangle) and objectives (e.g. zero injuries). In this time of economic uncertainty, he believes it is critical that safety professionals are making safety as efficient as possible.

About the Presenter: Dr. Mark Fleming is a member of the Department of Psychology at Saint Mary’s University since 2001 and was instrumental in founding the CN Centre for Occupational Health and Safety. For the past twenty years Dr. Fleming has been collaborating with the public and private sectors to develop tools and metrics aimed at increasing health and safety in industrial and professional environments. His collaborative applied research has spanned offshore oil and gas, patient safety, nuclear power, petrochemical and construction.
